Vietnam Fatherland Front marks founding anniversary
The Vietnam Fatherland Front marked its 81st founding anniversary in Hanoi on Thursday. VFF President Huynh Dam reviewed the organization’s glorious tradition over the years and said national unity has been a precious tradition in the struggle for national liberation, reunification and construction. Mr. Dam then highlighted the front’s goals from now until the end of the year. These include preparations for a program to persuade people to help the poor and for the 2012 Lunar New Year festival.He said: "Under the leadership of the Party, it’s time to uphold the role of the VN Fatherland Front. We should bring into full play the strength of national unity to implement Resolution of the 11th National Party congress.
On this occasion, 56 press works received the award ‘For the cause of National Great Unity 2011’. Radio the Voice of Vietnam had four works honored.
