(VOVworld) – Numerous business opportunities have opened thanks to a deal to elevate the Vietnam-France relationship to a strategic partnership signed during a recent visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to France. This was agreed by attendees of a conference called “Vietnam – France’s new strategic partner in Asia”, held Tuesday at the ESSEC Business School, one of the 5 most prestigious business schools in France.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung said Vietnam has established relationships with partners and large organizations around the world, highlighting its relations with France and other European nations. He said the elevation of bilateral ties to strategic partnership facilitates cooperation in economics, trade, and investment.

Ambassador Dung talked about the event’s significance: "The ESSEC Business School is one of the highest-profile institutes in the world for business administrators. At the conference held at ESSEC today, our friends wanted us to talk about Vietnam in its current development as a strategic partner of France, not the Vietnam of 40 years ago. This event is important for us to introduce Vietnam’s economic development and to analyze the significance of the newly-signed strategic partnership agreement, notably in trade and investment." 

Accompanying Dung to the conference were Commercial Counselor Nguyen Canh Cuong and Investment Promotion Counselor Nguyen Hong Le. They briefed participants on Vietnam’s preferential policies and favorable business climate to attract foreign investors like those from France.
