Vietnam has done a lot in administrative reforms

(VOVworld) – The plenary session of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) was held last week in Paris, France. The session was themed “Better policies for better lives. The Vietnamese delegation was participating as observer. Nguyen Van Lam, Head of the delegation and Deputy Director of the Administrative Procedure Control Agency under the Government Office, told VOV: “We are most interested in learning experiences in regulatory reform of countries who have delivered reports at the session. We will study these experiences and sort out what can be applied in Vietnam.

In recent past, OECD has made constructive recommendations for Vietnam, which is carrying project No30 on administrative reforms. Nguyen Van Lam told VOV about the session’s outcomes: “We are pleased to hear that OECD leaders and officials appreciate Vietnam’s administrative reform process since 2007. At the plenary meeting of 35 member states, the Deputy General Secretary of OECD commented that results that Vietnam has gained from administrative reforms are better than anti-corruption rhetoric in other countries”.

On the sidelines of session, the Vietnamese delegation met with representatives from Australia, the rotating President of OECD, the Netherlands, France, Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Egypt.
