Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar strengthen cooperation in intellectual property
(VOVworld)- The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam on Monday held a workshop on intellectual property and brand names for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Huu Nam, Deputy Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam highlighted the increasingly important role of intellectual property rights, especially in the knowledge-based economy at which Vietnam and other countries are aiming. Mr. Nam stressed the need to find ways to promote the brand names of products and increase competitive edge through advertising these brand names. David Faulks, the Executive Director of General Alliance said that Vietnam needs to associate key products with geographic locations, communities and stories to attract more customers. Mr. Faulks said that it’s important to develop strong trade mark strategies to assist business activities, and invest in innovation.
