Vietnam marks death anniversary of Hung Kings
(VOVworld) – An incense burning ceremony was held in the Hung Kings’ Temple in Phu Tho province on Friday, the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month to mark the death anniversary of the Hung Kings, the founders of Vietnam. Present were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam, other senior leaders and the people all over Vietnam. Hoang Dan Mac, Secretary of Phu Tho provincial Party Committee, highlighted the Vietnamese nation’s pride of its 4,000-year history of national construction and defence. Mac said: “How great our ancestors were. They made profound contributions to the development of Vietnam. How wise President Ho was. He passed down his descendants a legacy of theories. We pledge to build our strong and prosperous country, upholding the Hung King’s quintessence and spirit”.
Delegates and people offered incense, flowers and fruits in tribute of the Hung Kings and prayed for peace and prosperity.

In Ho Chi Minh city, a solemn ceremony was held in a memorial of the Hung Kings in district 9. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was among the attendants. Le Huu Phuc from Long An province said: “Today is the national holiday of Vietnam. We remember the contributions made by our predecessors. We, the younger generation, burn the incense to pay tribute to our ancestors and will try our best to help build Vietnam”.
