Vietnam successfully reduces green house gas emissions
(VOV/VOVword)- The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the UN Food and Agricultural Organization has held a seminar to review the first phase of the program to reduce green house gas emissions by controlling the felling of forests and general pollution. International delegates at the meeting praised Vietnam for successfully carrying out the program. Ha Cong Tuan, Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development says: "The seminar has created a forum for Vietnam and the international community to share their experiences in adapting to climate change, which will help to implement the convention on manmade climate change. We will work closer together to adapt to climate change and to protect, preserve and develop our forest resources".
The reduction of green house gas emissions by controlling the diminishing acres of forest and pollution is one of the top priorities in the country’s Strategy on Climate Change. It shows that Vietnam is willing and able to join with the international community in protecting the earth’s climate.
