(VOVworld) - Following the PCA ruling, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Vietnam welcomed the PCA conclusion and will issue a statement on the ruling.

Vietnam reiterated its view as stated in the Foreign Ministry’s letter to the PCA on December 5, 2012, strongly supporting settlement of disputes in the East Sea by peaceful measures, including diplomatic and legal procedures in line with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, 1982 for regional peace and security. Vietnam reaffirmed its national sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes as well as territorial and jurisdiction rights in compliance with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
