(VOVworld)- The launch of the Vietnam Natural Resources, Environment and Disaster Monitoring Small Satellite has been delayed. It was scheduled to go into orbit at 9 am Hanoi time on Saturday but postponed by the European Space Agency and Arianespace due to unfavorable weather. Dr. Bui Trong Tuyen, Vice Director of the Space Technology Institute under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, explains: “We have made all technical conditions ready for launching. But strong winds have forced us to delay the launching one day or even longer.”
VNREDSat-1 is Vietnam’s optical earth-observation satellite to capture images on all areas on the earth’s surface, helping to monitor natural disasters and climate change, especially in the event of storms, floods, forest fires and oil spills.
