Vietnam wins 3 golds at international photographic art contest
(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on Sunday hosted an award ceremony and the opening of an exhibition of the 7th international photographic art contest in Hanoi’s Temple of Literature. Vietnam win 3 gold medals in the three categories of portrait, tourism and free style.

Gold winners are Dang Van No with “A Cotu child”, Nguyen A with “Dong Ky festival of my home village” and Ngo Thanh Binh with “Catching fish under the rain”. Dang Van No, a reporter of Da Nang newspaper, says:“I am very honored and proud to win the gold medals of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). I created this work when I and my colleagues of the Han River Club of Photographic Art went on a charitable trip to the Cotu ethnic group in Quang Nam province”.
There were more than 15,000 entries by 1,400 photographers from 51 countries and territories. The jury board selected 663 works for the exhibition and awarded 48 prizes. Vu Quoc Khanh, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, says: “The 7th international photographic art contest continues to confirm the prestige of Vietnamese photographic art in general and the role of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in particular. The entries are diverse and reflect the typical characteristics of countries, promoting the their image, people and culture in the international community as well as build friendship and mutual understanding between countries”.
