(VOVworld) – A conference was held at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris on Thursday to promote Vietnamese products and connect businesses of the two countries. The conference, called “Opportunities to increase trade and investment between Vietnam and France within the framework of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement”, drew representatives of 80 Vietnamese and French businesses.

Vietnamese Trade Counselor Nguyen Quynh Anh said: “2016 saw many important events: the conference on Vietnam at the French Senate earlier this year, the Week of Vietnamese products in Lyon, and the French President’s visit to Vietnam in early September. As the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement will be signed and take effect soon, this conference is an important event for realizing the political commitments made by our leaders and the aspirations of our businesses.”

Leaders of Paris and the Business France promotion organization introduced to Vietnamese businesses their strengths and incentives. Philippe Yvergnaux represented Business France at the conference: “Business France in Hanoi has released a publication on doing business in Vietnam. We’ll provide information to businesses of both countries and work with Vietrade to organize similar conferences for our businesses to seek cooperative opportunities.”

The conference held separate discussions on processed food, agricultural products, consumer goods, rubber products, and cooperation in renewable energy.
