Participants at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday to review the program’s results said the program has changed awareness of the public’s role in decisions by communal authorities and grassroots democracy has become more widespread.

The meeting called for expansion of the program to young people and pupils.

The VACI, sponsored by the Vietnam Government Inspectorate and the World Bank, is a competition to encourage creative initiatives to increase  transparency, integrity and accountability, and decrease corruption in Vietnam.
