Vietnam’s garment and textile to earn 35 billion USD from exports
(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnamese garment and textile have earned 16.5 billion dollars from export revenue in the first half of this year.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Export Import Department, Tran Thanh Hai, expects 35 billion dollars of export revenue for the sector this year, thanks to advantages from free trade deals, including the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP).
“The Agreement requires rigid standards in origins and input materials, which are not widely available regionally. Thus we have to cover up input shortages by attracting investment in materials right in Vietnam. Exceptionally, specialized material shortages could be found outside the signatory countries.”, said Hai.
