(VOV) – The National Council of Professor Title held a ceremony this week to confer the title of Professor on 42 individuals and the title of Associate Professor on 427. Doctor Phung Ho Hai from the Institute of Mathematics was granted the exceptional title of Professor and Doctor Pham Huu Anh Ngoc, a lecturer from the Ho Chi Minh City International University, received the exceptional title of Associate Professor.

Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee, and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, spoke at the event on Monday: "The intelligentsia, especially Professors and Associate Professors, plays an important role in training the future generation of intellectuals. They help form a generation of young people fond of studying and mastering new technology, who have ambitions and a determination to lift the country out of poverty and put it on par with the powerful nations as was the wish of President Ho Chi Minh."
