Vietnam’s National Day marked

(VOVworld)_ A delegation of Vietnamese Party and State leaders led by Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong on September 2 paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense at the Monument to Fallen Soldiers on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and other Politburo members and members from the Party Central Committee were included in the delegation. The same day, delegations from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also paid homage to President HCM and offered incense to commemorate fallen soldiers.

On Monday, a festival to mark 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day was held in Moc Chau district, Son La province. Thousands of local people and visitors attended the event. HoanG Van Chuong is a Thai man from Muong Sang commune: “President Ho Chi Minh is the leader of our national liberation struggle. We are gathering here to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day and recall President Ho Chi Minh’s great contributions to the nation”.

A solemn ceremony to mark Vietnam’s National Day was held in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province on Monday. A delegation from Dongxing city, Guangxi province of China attended the meeting.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo, Japan held a meeting to mark Vietnam’s National Day. More than 500 representatives of the Japanese government, diplomatic delegations in Tokyo, Japanese organizations and companies and overseas Vietnamese people attended the event. In his address, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung reviewed Vietnam’s achievements over the past 69 years since President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence. The Ambassador highlighted support from international friends including those from Japan. Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Hirotaka Ishihara said the Japanese government treasured ties with Vietnam and expressed his belief in further development of bilateral ties: “Japanese enterprises are interested in expanding their factories in Vietnam. It’s time for Japan and Vietnam to strengthen security in Southeast Asia”.

Vietnam’s National Day celebrations were also held in Thailand and Romania.
