Two hours after lift off, it will separate from the VEGA launch rocket and use its own engine to fly into orbit. This satellite will supply high-resolution images to ministries, sectors, provinces and cities to serve natural resource and environment management and the monitoring of natural disasters. VNREDSat-1 is capable of capturing images of any region in the world and is expected to aid efforts to deal quickly and effectively with flooding, forest fires, oil spills. Bui Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of Space Technology under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Deputy Head of the VNREDSat-1, said the project has a total investment of nearly 56 million EUR. Vietnam has prepared three agencies to create, receive, and process the satellite images.
