(VOVworld) – National Asembly deputies have approved Vietnam’s socio-economic development plan for 2016 and discussed the management and use of land on state-owned farms during the 2004-2014 period. The discussion was broadcast live on radio and TV.

Nguyen Thuy Loan of Yen Bai city said: “Socio-economic development targets for 2016 are quite practical. The goals on social security and poverty reduction are appropriate. I believe that positive results will be achieved, improving people’s living standard.”

Nguyen Thanh Luan of Lai Chau city said: “We believe that we will achieve a growth rate of 6% or more. We hope that the National Asembly will focus on national defense, security, and the restructuring of agriculture, public debts, and education. Priority should also be given to poverty reduction in ethnic areas.”
