World congratulates Vietnam on election to UN Human Rights Council

(VOVworld) – The world has been congratulating Vietnam on its election to the UN Human Rights Council.
Pakistan’s representative to the UN, Masood Khan, said: "It is a marvelous success and I want to congratulate the people and government of Vietnam and also the permanent delegation here. The result is impressive that shows the popularity of Vietnam as a nation contributing to human right protection and promotion. I think Vietnam is an important country in the region. It has a strong economy which is growing. I think its presence in the Human Right Council will contribute to the protection and promotion of human rights".
Santos Sergio, Brazil’s representative to the UN said that Vietnam receiving the highest number of votes showed great support from the world community. Saudi Arabia’s representative to the UN, Abdallah Al-Muallimi, said: "Vietnam deserves to be in Human Right Council. We appreciate Vietnam’s achievements and hope that Vietnam’s participation will enhance the organization and promote its values and activities. Vietnam has a proud history. It resisted foreign domination and occupation, achieved independence and maintained its neutrality. We hope that Vietnam will maintain that kind of posture in the Human Right Council".
Filippe Savadogo, ambassador and representative of the Francophonie International Organization to the UN, shared his feelings: "I am very pleased with Vietnam’s election to the UN Human Rights Council, which will enhance the importance of the Francophonie Organization. I have witnessed Vietnam’s effort to contribute to the organization, especially in the human rights field".
Ambassador Le Hoai Trung, Vietnam’s representative to the UN, said the world community has placed trust in Vietnam with the hope that Vietnam will make a practical contribution in the next term.
