(VOVworld)- The first plenary session of the Committee for General Vo Nguyen Giap’s funeral was held today/Monday under the chair of Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also member of the State Funeral Committee and Head of the Organizing Board for National Funerals. Leaders from ministries, sectors, social organizations and family members of the General attended the meeting. Representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Transport and Health, the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association and authorities of Hanoi and Quang Binh discussed their coordination in organizing the funeral. Deputy Prime Minister Phuc stressed the importance of thorough preparation for the funeral to show the special feeling and gratitude the Vietnamese people and international friends have for General Vo Nguyen Giap.
