First is balancing door opening, renewal, socio-economic development, and consolidating the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Second is balancing the rapid economic growth with social progress and equality while protecting the environment and preserving national identity.
Third is balancing internal and external resources, domestic and foreign economies; internal and external trade; building an independent, reliable economy, and promoting international economic integration; and FDI attraction and private sector economic development.
Fourth is balancing short term and long term tasks with ministries, sectors, and localities firmly adhering to the principles of a socialist-oriented market economy.
Fifth is balancing national financial resources, budget balances, public debts, international payment, and other macro balances. Vietnam has an effective macro target system but it needs to be improved.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said, 'We need to be resolute and have strong determination. Right from the first quarter, we are determined to effectively realize the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in our agencies and localities. What we achieved during the last 5 years, particularly in 2020, proved the consensus and shared aspiration and determination of the Party and the people. We need to focus on these five tasks in the first half of this year, throughout this year and during the next five years.'
The Prime Minister said these five major balances are the foundation to ensure sustainable growth for Vietnam.
