(VOVWORLD) - Bach Long Vy islanders now have access to a stable electricity supply as a power project on the island off the coast of Hai Phong was completed and handed over to local authorities on Saturday.
The 2.5 MW project, which combines wind, solar, and diesel-generated power, will support industries and tourism, contributing to making Bach Long Vy a center for seafood processing, fishery logistics, search and rescue activities in the northern coastal region.
Nguyen Cong Dien, Vice Chairman of the Bach Long Vy district People’s Committee, said, “Fresh water supply on the island has been ensured thanks to a reservoir built by Hai Phong young volunteers in 2015. This is the first time we have enjoyed both a stable fresh water and electricity supply, which will be a great source of encouragement for local people and soldiers.”
