The Nhon Hai Tourism Service and Seafood Cooperative has started cultivating seaweed in Nhon Hai waters.  Cooperative Director Nguyen Ton Xuan Sang, told VOV, Seaweed cultivation is not only profitable but also attracts marine creatures, enabling  us to organize fishing activities for visitors.”

Aquaculture covers 3,500ha in Binh Dinh province and produces more than 13,500 tonnes of seafood per year. The province will tighten the link between farmers and processors, according to Tran Van Phuc, Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

He said the department encourages seafood farming in wave and wind proof cages. Aquaculture coupled with seaweed cultivation is promoted to protect coral reefs, he added.
