(VOVWORLD) - A conference to sign the "Coast Guards accompany fishermen" program between the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee took place on Thursday in Ninh Binh province.

The program disseminated the Party's guidelines, viewpoints and policies on the management and protection of Vietnam's sovereignty over its sea and islands. The Coast Guard will help people in the region develop the marine economy, reduce poverty, build new rural areas, and help fishermen.
Ninh Binh has 18km of coastline. The coastal alluvial area in Kim Son district is deposited into the sea annually by over 100m and is recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve.
Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee issued a resolution on the sustainable development of Kim Son coastal economic zone, period from 2022-2030. The goal is to gradually build Kim Son coastal area into a new growth pole in Ninh Binh.
The signing of the program tightens the solidarity of the army and locality, strengthening national unity to firmly protect the country's sovereignty over seas and islands.
