Voters expressed their satisfaction on outcomes of the recent National Assembly session. They voiced their frustration as China keeps deploying its oil rig in Vietnam’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reiterated Vietnam’s constant policy of safeguarding national sovereignty, peace and stability for national development. Vietnam is determined to ask China to withdraw the oil rig and escort forces out of Vietnam’s waters in line with international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
