(VOVworld) – Ly Son island district has many advantages for developing the marine economy, agreed delegates at a national seminar on “development orientation and a special mechanism for Ly Son island district” held in Quang Ngai city on Wednesday. In addition to planning activities, and solving conflicts between economic development, national security and defense purposes, they stressed the importance of training activities for local human resources, considering this the key factor in the island’s sustainable development.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc underscored that mechanisms and policies made for Ly Son island must ensure requirements for national security and defense, as well as national sovereign protection. He said the government was considering a range of policies to support local fishery development and investors in the island. He added that various favorable conditions, including funds allocated from the state budget and other capital sources, will be applied in Ly Son, to upgrade the local infrastructure.
