Foreign ship stranded off the coast of Binh Thuan rescued
(VOVWORLD) - Rescue vessels of the Marine Services Joint Stock Company under the Saigon Tan Cang Corporation, the Vietnam People’s Navy on Thursday successfully rescued the Panamanian ship “Nemrut Bay” which was stranded off the coast of Binh Thuan province on Monday.

Thanks to the rescue effort, absolute safety was ensured for all people and vehicles. According to the Binh Thuan Port Authority, the rescue team is taking the next steps to bring the ship to Vung Tau port.
The vessel was stranded on Britto Shoal, about 10 nautical miles southeast of La Gi, while it was en route from the Philippines to the port of Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
It was transporting 25,510 tons of steel and contained more than 850 tons of oil fuel when the incident occurred. The timely rescue ensures that oil is not spilled into the aquatic environment, which can harm the marine environment.
