The exhibition introduced 158 maps, photos, and other documents testifying to Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa from the 17th to the 20th century. Materials published in Vietnam and other countries are on display. They all evince the assertion, exercise and protection of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos. The aim of the exhibit is to raise public awareness of the importance of Vietnam’s sea and islands and promote a sense of responsibility among officials and the public for defending Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty.
