(VOVworld) - An exhibition displaying maps and documents on Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos opened in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on Tuesday.

On display are documents, objects, publications and nearly 100 maps in Chinese, Nom, Chinese-transcribed Vietnamese, French and modern Vietnamese collected by local and foreign scholars and researchers.
Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition is an important and practical way to help raise awareness among soldiers and all Vietnamese people, particularly the younger generation, of patriotism, national unity and a sense of responsibility.
All exhibits will be given to the provincial People’s Committee after the exhibition closes this Saturday.
