(VOVWORLD) - Two ships of the Royal New Zealand Navy, frigate HMNZS Te Mana and sustainment vessel HMNZS Aotearoa paid a five-day friendship visit to Vietnam this week.

The visit aims to strengthen Vietnam-New Zealand defense relations as well as people-to-people ties. During their stay in Ho Chi Minh City, the officers and sailors of New Zealand engaged in meetings between the countries’ navies, sports exchanges, and community activities.
A total of 300 officers and sailors arrived on the two ships, who are responsible for combat, humanitarian aid, rescue, and training support.
