Vietnam Red Cross Society support fishermen
(VOVWORLD) -More than 28,000 fishermen and fishing boats will be given the national flag, life jackets and first aid bags, 250 poor fishing households will be supported with repairs and building houses, and 10,000 poor fishing households will be helped to sustain livelihoods in 2023, according to the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

The total estimated cost of the program is more than 8.7 million USD.
The program "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen" for 2022-2027 launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society this May was implemented in 291 disadvantaged communes in 23 provinces bordering the sea.
In 2022, more than 17,000 life jackets and nearly 2,000 national flags were given to fishermen in 19 provinces. The funding for the program this year totals 1.9 million USD.
