This was the second joint patrol this year and the seventh since the Vietnam-China agreement on fishery cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin expired in June, 2020.

The joint patrol stretched across 13 points within 255.5 nautical miles, from the southeastern part of Tran Island to the northeastern part of Con Co Island along the demarcation line in the Tonkin Gulf.

The joint patrol included a range of activities, including direct talks, inspections and supervision of fishing boats operating in the waters adjacent to the demarcation line, and raising the awareness of the two countries’ fishermen about law compliance.
