The Association has 116 members, most of whom are members of the Muong ethnic group. On International Women's Day (March 8), Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), National Day (September 2), and Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20), it organizes cultural, art, and sports exchanges for female villagers.

To attract more participants, communications have been promoted to help women understand the role of the association in protecting women’s rights and benefits. Local women have enthusiastically responded to the emulation movements launched by the Lac Son district Women's Association.

Bui Thi Vinh, head of the Bai Von Women's Association, said that the Association’s main activities are disseminating the laws on marriage and family, domestic violence, and environmental protection, and encouraging women to do physical exercise.

“At the Association’s meetings, functional agencies explain the importance of maintaining public security and social order. No cases of domestic violence have been reported in our hamlet,” said Vinh.

Bai Von hamlet now has many households following models for raising pigs or chickens or husking and milling rice. The Women's Association coordinates with the local administration to support members in economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and restructuring crops and livestock to increase income.

Trinh Thi Thanh who lives in Dinh Cu commune said participating in the Women's Association is useful. “When facing difficulties, female members help each other work and give each other money. Another benefit is that women are given information about environmental protection and advice about taking care of children and animals. Experienced people pass their experience on to others to increase everyone’s productivity,” said Thanh.

The Women's Association visits members when they’re sick and helps policy beneficiaries, families of revolutionary contributors, and families of women in difficult circumstances. Attention is given to rural traffic projects, building rural roads, cleaning houses, and turning waste and scrap into money.

Bui Thi Dim, a resident of Dinh Cu commune, said, “The Association teaches its members how to raise pigs, cows, and chickens, prevent domestic violence, and protect the environment. Thanks to Association communications, members are able to set up cultural exchanges whenever they participate in a festival.”

The Women's Association of Bai Von hamlet mobilized its members to participate in the Hoa Binh province emulation movement of developing women in the new era based on 4 criteria – knowledge, ethics, health, and responsibility.
