(VOVworld) – Documents to be presented at the 12^th National Party Congress include a political report and a report on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks over the last 5 years and directions for the next 5 years. At the opening session on Thursday Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong read a report of the 11^th Party Central Committee on documents to be presented at the Congress, whose common target is to transform Vietnam into a modern industrial nation by 2020. Major directions will include renovating the growth model, restructuring the economy, accelerating industrialization and modernization linked with a knowledge-based economy, fine-tuning institutions, and developing a socialist-oriented market economy.
