(VOVworld) – A gala night will open the Dien Bien Cultural and Tourism Week on Thursday, kicking off a series of activities in the northern province of Dien Bien to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

Nguyen Minh Thong, general director of the show, said: “Our art performances will be divided into 3 chapters. The first chapter will introduce the Thai ethnic legend of Khun and Ban about human proliferation and the unity among Vietnamese ethnic groups. The second chapter will describe Vietnam’s development after the wars. And the third chapter will embrace the love between Dien Bien residents to people across Vietnam and around the world.”

On Wednesday, a national mobile communication festival about Dien Bien Phu presented 30 gold medals and 18 silver medals to most outstanding art performances. During the 5-day event, audiences applauded the revolutionary spirit of Vietnamese soldiers and civilians during wartime.

Ngo Hoai Chung of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “After this festival, communications teams will remain operational at their localities to fulfill their political tasks and intensify communications activities about the Dien Bien Phu victory. Detailed scripts have been outlined for this 60^th anniversary to underscore the importance of the Dien Bien Phu victory to Vietnamese nationwide.”

The festival has attracted 1,000 artists from 48 provinces across Vietnam.
