At the reception, Tien congratulated President Gil Hwan Young for being elected as ABU President at the just-concluded 50th ABU General Assembly in Hanoi. He expressed his hope that President Gil Hwan Young will create new milestones in the Union’s development history. During the talks, Tien briefed his guests on the development of Radio Voice of Vietnam. He stressed that VOV, which is striving to become a multi-media agency in the near future, is currently the only media agency in Vietnam that covers all 4 major media types: broadcasting, an online newspaper, print, and television, with broadcasting playing the key role. He expressed the hope that KBS would support Vietnam in producing programs in general and programs to teach the Korean language in particular, as well as in exchanging experiences, and organizing training activities. President Gil Hwan Young revealed that KBS will start a program broadcast in Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese in Korea early next month to keep them updated on the latest information and in helping to study Korean language.
