(VOVworld) – A delegation of Radio the Voice of Vietnam led by VOV General Director Nguyen Dang Tien on Friday visited and presented gifts to fishermen on Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province.

The district authorities said despite China’s illegal deployment of its oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and its ramming on Vietnamese ships, the district’s fishermen would continue to fish and are determined to protect the country’s sea and islands sovereignty.

Mr. Tien said Radio the Voice of Vietnam stands side by side with the fishermen. Through the mass media, VOV calls on peace-loving people all over the world to support Vietnam in its national construction and defence cause and calls on every Vietnamese to think of the sea and islands. The VOV presented 2 fishermens associations in An Hai and An Vinh communes with 22 million VND each.
