(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's visa policy and entry procedures have been reformed, and the number of foreigners entering Vietnam since the COVID-19 pandemic has been steadily increasing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related agencies continue to revise procedures and come up with solutions to facilitate entry into Vietnam in order to boost Vietnam's tourism industry and global integration.

Once the COVID-19 pandemic was under control in Vietnam, the Vietnamese government restored the immigration policy that was in effect before the pandemic. Vietnam reopened its border to foreign tourists, experts, and investors on March 15.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised the government on policies and measures for border reopening and directed Vietnam’s representative offices overseas to support foreigners who want to come to Vietnam.

Vice spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with other agencies to study and report to the Government more measures to offer better conditions for foreign tourists to enter Vietnam, to meet the demand of foreign tourists and Vietnam’s socio-economic development.”
The Ministry of Public Security has been implementing an e-visa policy to make obtaining a visa easier for foreigners. A foreigner can apply for an e-visa without an invitation or guarantee from an organization or individual in Vietnam. The entire process can be done online, including payment of the visa fee, saving time and effort for both the applicant and the processing staff.
Foreigners can print their visa at home and no longer need to come in person to a visa-issuing agency in their country or upon arrival in Vietnam.
Compared to many other countries, Vietnam's visa policy is simple, fast, and flexible. Vietnamese authorities will continue to improve procedures and help foreigners resolve any problem they may have trying to come to Vietnam.
