The solutions are for: enhancing the role and accountability of the central party offices, authorities, the heads of agencies, organizations and units; improving economic management institutions; strictly abiding by personnel management regulations; improving inspection, supervision, auditing, investigation, prosecution, and judgement; improving the supervision role of agencies representing people; renewing and improving capability of ruling agencies in fighting corruption.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong was addressing the 5th plenary session |
Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong told the closing ceremony of 5th plenary session: "It’s necessary for us to gain headway in the fight against corruption and wastefulness in accordance with the 11th National Party Congress’s resolution and the Party Central Committee Resolution. It is very important to focus on both corruption and wastefulness prevention while enhancing the role and responsibility of party cells, authorities, and leaders, perfecting mechanisms, policies, and laws related to socio-economic management, improving democracy, and transparency, developing the supervisory role of the National Assembly, People’s Councils, Fatherland Front, people and the public."
At this session, the party officials advocated the establishment of a Politburo-led Central Steering Committee for anti-corruption. The move is considered a breakthrough and an effective tool in the fight against corruption and wastefulness. Chairman of Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee, Le Hoang Quan said: "We suggest that efforts considering activities to fight corruption and wastefulness should be one of criteria to evaluate party members annually. Leaders of each locality should take the lead in the fight against corruption to encourage people of all social strata to follow suit."
Fighting corruption is an urgent yet long-term task of the party building work to achieve a socialist state governed by laws. Each party member from grassroots to central levels should set a good example in this fight while doing their best to improve public awareness in corruption prevention in line with the campaign to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples.
