The Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage is the first site managed by two localities, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong municipal People's Committee, said: “UNESCO’s recognition is expected to attract a larger number of Vietnamese and foreign tourists to Hai Phong. If we want to maintain the image of the heritage and extend the stay of tourists, we must coordinate and invest more.”
Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city will collaborate in upgrading infrastructure, training human resources, ensuring security and order, and improving accommodations, the environment, traffic, and healthcare.

Mr. Nam said: “We have asked city authorities to raise fees and charges for Cat Ba Archipelago to equal those for Ha Long Bay in order to have sufficient capital to maintain, conserve, and promote the heritage. We’ll strengthen security and order, so tourists will feel safe.”
The site already has good infrastructure, services, and beautiful landscapes like Lan Ha Bay, Monkey Island, and Cat Ba National Park. Tourism companies will now offer new services and products for tourists who want to explore the area or go boating, fishing, or sightseeing.
