The Hai Phong Street Music Festival began last Saturday at the flagpole yard of the Municipal Theater and the area by Tam Bac Lake, drawing a large number of local residents and visitors.
The festival involves a number of dance troupes including Ocean, O.S crew, and Marvel BandZ, national dancesport athletes Dao Thai Duong and Nguyen Tran Khanh Linh, magician Duc Anh and several singers and artists. The Hai Phong Xam Singing Club, the Trang An Bien Music and Dance Club, the Hai Phong Fine Arts Club, and the Hai Phong Young Photographers’ Club also join the program.
Performances embrace a modern, vibrant and youthful style featuring a fire dance, a carnival, contemporary dances, and magic shows.
There are also ethnic musical instrument concerts, a showcase of calligraphy paintings and the toy figurine making craft, an art gallery, a fashion show, and displays of sketch artists. The combination of singing, dancing and multiple art performances makes the festival a music party. Tran Viet Hoang, a resident of Hai Phong city, said: “The music program is very interesting, the music is great, and the atmosphere is exciting.”
“At the weekend, my family and friends are excited about the city’s street music festival. It is very exciting. Everyone is happy. The festival brings people closer,” said Pham Van Tuan, a local resident.
