Tran Minh Hung, VOV Vice President and co-chief organizer of the championship, said: “VOV will work closely with the Vietnam Football Federation to organize a successful national futsal tournament for the fans and promote futsal among young people. The championship will help Vietnamese futsal become competitive globally.”

“The board chose Nha Trang to host the tournament because it’s a popular tourist site. The HDBank Futsal National Championship 2019 will help promote Nha Trang’s attractions to Vietnamese tourists and to foreign friends,” said Le Thanh Trung, Deputy General Director of HDBank, the tournament's main sponsor.

A second round robin will take place from August 29 to September 19 in Ho Chi Minh City. The winning team of this year’s 10 competing teams will receive a cash prize of 21,500 USD and will qualify for the AFC Futsal Championship 2020. Matches will be broadcast live on Vietnam Journey TV, VTC3, and VTC Now mobile app.
