In the new normal period, tourists prefer separate tourist destinations which are close to where they live. They prefer to avoid crowded places and public transportation.

Quang Ninh province offers 4-season tourism services. It continues to offer free admission to Ha Long Bay and other sightseeing spots and free transportation from Van Don Airport to the inner city. The province has issued 24 compulsory criteria and 11 recommended criteria for travel and tourist agencies.

Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of Quang Ninh’s Department of Tourism, said: “We’ll work with the National Administration of Tourism and other agencies to reopen domestic tourism. It won’t be easy. We have suggested that tourism companies offer quick COVID-19 testing for tourists one hour before they leave the province to prove that Quang Ninh was a safe place to visit and they don’t have to worry about returning home.”

In the tourism development strategy of Lang Son province, Mau Son is a focal destination for making tourism a key economic sector by 2030. The province has investment in infrastructure and facilities to open the Mau Son cable car tourism complex.

Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son’s People’s Committee, said: “We’ll concentrate on the construction of the Mau Son national tourism project. We’ll also promote other tourism services, such as eco-tourism, resorts, and religious, adventure, and border tours. We’ll upgrade infrastructure to connect routes and destinations.”

Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, and Binh Dinh province have basically contained the pandemic. They have many separate tourist sites on islands and bays which can organize closed tours. The provinces are out of the storm season so they can welcome tourists in November.

Tourist companies in Ho Chi Minh City are beginning to sell tours to southern central and southwestern provinces. People have a variety of holiday options which is a good sign for Ho Chi Minh City’s economic recovery now that the pandemic has been basically contained.
