(VOVworld) – To commemorate the 126th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh, the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam has reviewed the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive 3 on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts and morals over the past 5 years and issued Directive 5 on enhancing the study and follow-up of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals, and style.

During 5 years of implementing Directive 3, millions of role models in studying and following President Ho’s moral example have been acknowledged. They have proved that the campaign is a success.
Confirming the campaign’s outcomes
Vu Huu Giao, President of the Association for Promoting Education in Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province, is dedicated to education and has encouraged people to donate to the district’s Fund for Promoting Education to support the education of disadvantaged children. 80-year-old Giao said studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example must be through regular, practical activities. Words and actions must be in harmony, transparent, and selfless to serve the people.
Mr. Giao said: “I want to support and encourage people in their studies. I’ve studied President Ho Chi Minh’s morals and have tried to overcome all difficulties in my work. Despite rain, slippery roads, and scorching sun at 42 degree Celsius, we are determined to go to remote areas to encourage people to organize Education Promotion units at communes and villages. Now all 257 villages have Education Promotion units which are operating effectively.”
Directive 3 has been widely implemented in all Party cells and social organizations. Vo Cong Tri, Deputy Secretary of Da Nang’s Party Committee, said: "The implementation of Directive 3 over the past 5 years has had concrete results in thinking and action in all sectors, particularly in Party building and improving the political system and the capability of Party members and state employees. It has also contributed to Danang’s socio-economic development over the past 5 years.”
The implementation of Directive 3 has boosted the economy, strengthened national defense and social security, expanded external relations, enhanced Party building, improved the political system, fulfilled the resolution of the 11th Party Congress, and prevented Party members from back sliding in their political thoughts, morals, and lifestyles. The campaign has been carried out systematically and practically, which has enhanced the people’s trust in the Party and state.
Self-discipline in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example
The Politburo’s Directive 5 affirms a determination to accelerate studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals, and style to drastically change awareness and actions in the Party, and political system, prevent deterioration of political thoughts, morals, and lifestyle, and combat phenomena of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” among cadres and Party members, as well as corruption, waste, and red-tape.
Dinh The Huynh, permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, said the campaign should become a regular practice of Party Committees, organizations, and administrative agencies. “We need to make sure all Party members and all citizens understand the content and profound values of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals, and style. President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts should become a firm spiritual foundation of society to develop a cultural lifestyle and train Vietnamese people to meet the requirements of national defense and obtain the goals of a rich people, a strong nation, democracy, equality, and civilization.” The implementation of Directive 5 aims to create sustainable and widespread change in the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals, and style.
