Unlike Ha Long Bay, which is developed and well-known to tourists, Bai Tu Long Bay and Bai Tu Long National Forest have maintained their pristine beauty, largely unaffected by commercial development. These are the ideal settings for the development of eco-tourism, experiential tourism, and nature conservation. New tourism routes launched recently on Bai Tu Long Bay take tourists to islands, caves, fishing villages, and beaches.

Nguyen Lam Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said the province will focus on promoting Bai Tu Long Bay’s tourism potential, offering more choices for domestic and foreign visitors.

“The development of new tourism activities on Bai Tu Long Bay is crucial, now that Van Don island has built more accommodations and hotels with hundreds of rooms. In July and August this year, a 1,000-room complex will be inaugurated, providing great convenience for visitors who want to stay longer in Quang Ninh,”  Nguyen said.

Last year, Quang Ninh introduced 10 tourism packages and 3 connected itineraries between Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay. Dao Van Vu, Vice Chairman of the Van Don district People’s Committee, said these are the conditions for the locality to attract more investors in developing sustainable tourism.

"We are inviting businesses to launch tours on these new routes on Bai Tu Long Bay. We have been working closely with departments, travel businesses, and the Ha Long Cruise Association to operate qualified ships on the Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay routes. We encourage businesses to invest in high-quality cruise ships that meet international standards," said Vu.

With its potential and increasing investment, Bai Tu Long Bay will become one of the most attractive island and coastal destinations in the region. When the new tourism routes are fully developed and combined with a completed infrastructure, it will become a key driver of Quang Ninh’s tourism growth.
