Joining the program from Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked people inside and outside Vietnam for supporting the country’s fight against the COVID-19.
The Prime Minister said, 'The program was not just a concert but a reflection of Vietnam’s national unity. Wherever they are in the world, in whatever circumstance or with whatever approach they have, the hearts of Vietnamese people are with the motherland. We have been receiving moral and material support from generous people all over the world. Vietnam appreciates those contributions. All are for the prosperity and happiness of the people. We are determined to adapt to the situation in a flexible, safe manner so as to contain the pandemic and restore and promote socio-economic development.'
The program featured HCM City’s pandemic efforts and songs about the homeland and the sacrifices, solidarity, mutual support, and strong will of the Vietnamese people. It showcased touching stories of doctors and patients fighting for life in COVID-19 hospitals, humanitarian activities, and sharing by people nationwide. The program conveyed a strong confidence that the pandemic will be contained and a brighter future will come.
Doctor Tran Thanh Linh, Deputy Director of the COVID-19 ICU Hospital, said. 'We have reopened, but we have to follow the disease prevention measures recommended by the Ministry of Health. Those who have recovered are living witnesses to how the pandemic has ravaged our lives and how devoted the medical staff are to their work. They are the most effective messengers for the community.'
The program raised 4.5 million USD from organizations, businesses, and the public nationwide.
