(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh on Sunday concluded his week-long official visits to the Republic of Korea and India from December 12 to 19. The visits have contributed to cementing Vietnam’s Strategic Cooperative Partnership with the Republic of Korea and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with India.
During the 6-day trip to the two countries, Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Vietnamese delegation attended 70 high-level meetings and exchanges between localities and businesses.

Parliamentary diplomacy enhanced
The visits reflected the role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing Vietnam’s bilateral relationship with its two major strategic partners in Asia and strengthened political trust between Vietnamese and Korean and Indian parliamentary leaders, who shared their parliamentary experience and ideas for economic recovery and development following the COVID-19 pandemic.
9 cooperative agreements were signed including an Agreement on Social Insurance between the Vietnamese and Korean governments which creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers in Korea and Korean workers in Vietnam.
39 investment certificates and cooperation agreements worth 15 billion USD were exchanged during the trip.
After the visits, Vietnam received 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 1 million tons of materials to produce COVID-19 treatment medicines as well as funding from the RoK and India. Secretary General and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said: "The gift of 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for children is of great importance to Vietnam as we’re accelerating vaccination for children to enable them to come back to school. The COVID-19 treatment medicines are very helpful for our fight against COVID-19. This aid will help Vietnam contain and combat the pandemic.

Cooperative agreements to promote prosperity of respective countries
NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and his Korean and Indian counterparts agreed to enhance cooperation between their agencies and friendship parliamentarian groups and share information about issues of mutual concern. They will implement coordinated, holistic measures to make their parliamentary relationship a role model, boost cooperation and development, and maintain peace, friendship, and prosperity in the region.
The Vietnamese National Assembly pledges to create the best conditions, fine-tune its legal system to make it transparent and effective in assuring foreign investors’ long-term operation in Vietnam. The Vietnamese NA Office and the Office of the Indian Lower House signed a digital library and digital television cooperative agreement to aid the development of an e-Parliament.
Chairman Hue’s visits realized the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on promoting Vietnam's open foreign policy of diversification and multi-lateralisation, proactiveness, and activeness and responsibility of the Vietnamese Party and State to improve Vietnam’s international status.
