(VOVworld) – The 15^th Vietnam Poem Day will open on Saturday, the 15^th day of the 1^st lunar month, at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi.

This year’s Poem Day will have a poem contest, a recital, a quiz, and parallel poems in praise of the nation, the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, creativity, unity, patriotism, and national construction. Poem Day is the curtain raiser of a program to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.

The event will include exchanges with well-known poets of different generations and those who have won Vietnam Writers’ Association awards and a space exclusively for children’s poetry clubs. Nguyen Quang Thieu, Vice President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, says: “We’ve reserved a large space to display books and poems for children. Child authors will introduce their works.”

The festival will introduce to the public notable Vietnamese poets by displaying their portraits and poems along a path called “The poet path”. Mr. Thieu again: “We’ll have areas for poetry clubs, calligraphists, and art performances. An outdoor photo exhibition will review the 60-year history of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.”

There will be a stage for poets and writers to recite their favorite poems.
