CTOptimal creates Make-in-Vietnam specialized AI products

(VOVWORLD) - CTOptimal, a member of CT Group, introduced three specialized AI products in healthcare, logistics, and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) at the Vietnam Digital Technology Exhibition last month. These products are made entirely by Vietnamese engineers who hope to contribute to climate change response, green transition, and sustainable development.

Like many other industries, healthcare is now using artificial intelligence (AI) to diagnose and treat diseases. AI significantly reduces the workload of doctors, improves the accuracy of diagnoses, and increases the number of patients that can be treated in a day.

Those practical benefits encouraged CTOptimal experts to develop AI for Healthcare, a digital platform for the diagnosis and control of cardiovascular diseases.

AI for Healthcare was developed as an Auto Electrocardiogram Monitoring  (AEM) system to provide more effective patient care by delivering an overview of data, control processes, diagnoses, and doctor's conclusions based on predictive models.

Platform users don’t need to spend extra money to buy a new device. They can use current products such as smartphones and smart watches with health monitoring features.

Dang Phu, CTOptimal’s Sales Director, told VOV that machine learning technology and many optimization algorithms are applied in the AI platform.

“The system analyzes multiple data sets linked to various hospitals. The advantage of AI is that the more data it has, the higher its accuracy. After being analyzed by the system, the initial signals of an ECG (electrocardiogram) give doctors more data with which to advise patients. We focus on cardiovascular diseases, on how to use ECG data most effectively, because many people now use smart watches,” said Phu.

With AI for Health, a user’s health data, collected from smart health monitoring devices or from medical facilities is analyzed and a warning is given when signs of cardiovascular abnormalities are detected.

The user can choose to have warnings sent to his phone, to a relative, or to his doctor. The platform is being tested by CTOptimal at a hospital in Indonesia.

CTOptimal has developed its own DCA algorithm, which serves as a base platform for optimization methods and machine learning technology.

With this scientific achievement, CTOptimal has created DCALog, which solves two fundamental logistical problems – transportation and warehousing – for systems ranging from simple to complex, delivering high optimization efficiency for logistics operations.

It is one of the top 5 global optimization and advanced machine learning platforms, Phu said, adding that CTOptimal has tested on a real data set of more than 500 retail stores with more than 2,000 orders per day.

“After using CTGroup's AI for Logistics, customers said our solution reduced their costs 23%. We conducted a comparison  with one of the world's leading solutions. In multiple tests on the same real data set, there were some things the other solution couldn’t process. It took just 10 to 15 minutes for our solution to process the same data. On average, our solution ran ten times faster and the total cost was 14% lower,” Phu noted.

UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) are another product CTOptimal has developed based on its core technology.

According to Phu, unlike other UAVs or drones, CTOptimal’s UAV product is integrated with AI, which enables it to control multiple UAVs simultaneously for various missions.

“Our UAVs can self-navigate without GPS or autonomous target identification,” Phu concluded.

CTOptimal's UAVs are capable of carrying objects weighing tens of kilograms. According to the company, their product has uses in agriculture, cargo transportation, and the oil and gas industry.

At the Vietnam Digital Technology Exhibition in Hanoi last month, part of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Forum, CTOptimal’s three products surprised attendees like Lord Fakafanua, the Speaker of the Tongan Legislative Assembly.

“I'm very happy to be here with the CT group and the solutions they've come up with, some of the world-class, world-leading solutions that we're looking for, particularly the new algorithm they have developed, which is apparently a lot better, and more effective, than what IBM has,” said Lord Fakafanua.

He expressed his belief that optimized delivery can be used, especially in the South Pacific, to optimize airlines and passenger travel, creating more efficient travel so we can be more green and more mindful of our carbon footprint. There's a lot of potential for innovation and collaboration with the South Pacific.

After the exhibition, the three products are scheduled for global distribution, starting early next year, with high expectations of being highly competitive with the best products currently available on the market, said Phu.

“Unlike other businesses that use open source or an existing AI platform, we have developed our own AI platform and applied the algorithm for optimization,” said Phu, adding, “Vietnam has many good mathematicians and many scientific research projects and we want to integrate that work into this AI system to create an AI platform completely belonging to Vietnamese people. We want to put Vietnamese intelligence on the world technology map, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation, green transition, and sustainable development.”

CTOptimal has Vietnamese computer scientists, mathematicians, and data specialists working in France. In addition to their three current products, they are researching genetic and cell technology, clean energy, quantum technology, and green cryptocurrency products.
