(VOVworld) – Dong Van market nestled in the mountainous region of the north-eastern province of Ha Giang is not only a place to go and trade goods but a place to meet, exchange, and give each other a smile for ethnic minority groups in the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Thousands of people donned in colorful traditional costumes from different regions flock to the market early on Sunday mornings. Major items traded at the market are agro-forestry products, local specialties, and different kinds of brocade.
Jitka Hertig, a Swiss tour operator, said the market is a favorite of foreign tourists who are intrigued by the unique cultural characteristics of the Mong, Tay, Dao, and Nung ethnic people and find it one of the most memorable spots of their visits to Vietnam.
