(VOVworld) -An annual festival praying for a good fish harvest commonly known as – Cau Ngu Festival – is an indispensable part of the spiritual life of people living in Vietnam’s coastal areas.
This year’s festival is currently taking place in the central coastal province of Phu Yen as part of activities under the framework of the 2014 Seafood Festival.
During the festival, traditional prayer rituals offer up sacrifices to the gods to secure good weather, peaceful sea and a good fishing harvest.
There are also performances re-enacting fish catching and other activities of local fishermen to preserve the traditional cultural heritage and humanitarian values.
