Son Tra Peninsula

(VOVworld) – Son Tra Peninsula is considered a pearl island and a famous ecological and spiritual tourism site of Da Nang City. Lan Anh reports. 

Located in the North-East of Da Nang, Son Tra Peninsula and Hai Van pass create a magnificent and charming combination of sea and mountains.

Son Tra has 22 rare species listed in Vietnam’s Red Book. The most famous species is the Red Shanked Douc Langur. It was made the ecological symbol of Da Nang in 2016. Statues of the langurs are placed along Son Tra Peninsula road.

Linh Ung pagoda is shaped like a turtle with its head towards the sea and its back to the forest. The spiritual tourism site attracts visitors from inside and outside Vietnam.

The statue of Akavalokite Buddha, at 67m, is the tallest Akavalokite Buddha statue in Vietnam. It stands on the mountain facing the sea. The Buddha’s hand holds a willow branch to grant peace to the fishermen at sea.
